Choosing The Best Moving Service For You

People are on the move. We live in a time when people make at least several moves during their lifetime. Most of these people require a reliable moving service to handle their move. After all, moving is a major happening in anyones life. It does not matter if the move is across town or across the country. You will certainly want to take your adt security services along too. Moving causes lots of stress. One way to make the move smooth and stress free is by choosing the best moving service for you.
First decide on your moving budget. How much can you afford? You don’t want to get in over your head and hire an expensive moving service. Call around for a few quotes before making your decision on which company to consider hiring. Once you’ve narrowed down the list to the final one or two, check their background. Determine if the moving company is licensed? Check their rating at the Better Business Bureau. Ask the company for references. Suppose you are on a limited budget and can’t pay all at once. Ask if they take partial payments. Take all the information here into consideration before making your final decision.

Wrapping In Paper Or Bubble Wrap.

When you are planning on moving there are a lot of things on your mind. The last thing you want to worry about is breaking your valuables or all your dishes when you hit a bump in the road. Many choose to pack their belongings in paper and some with bubble wrap. When you pack with paper or bubble wrap you are making sure that your items have that while moving your items are secure. Here are some (More…)

Finding Packing Boxes Or Purchasing Boxes.

A year ago, my family moved from our 2-bedroom apartment in the city to a 3-bedroom apartment near the university. My husband had just been accepted to a graduate program, and because I was pregnant at the time with our second child, we really needed a bigger place.

As the impending move date arrived we started making lists of all of the things we needed to get done. At the top of the list, was to find moving boxes.

Although our move wasn’t far, we decided to rent a (More…)

Choosing The Best Moving Service For You.

Choosing a good moving service can be tricky for the first time mover, and even for experienced movers. For those of us who do not have three sons who are also professional football players, we may need a little extra help with that grand piano,www.amadeuspianos.com/pianos.htm.

The simplest things to look for in a good moving service is word of mouth. If movers have a good buzz via your friend, or your relative, chances are it’s going to be a good experience for you. That’s (More…)

Have a Party

It seems to be getting tougher these days to find friends and family who are willing to help you move (especially with apartment buildings getting taller and taller as architects go crazy with design and land space becomes more scarce), so instead of trying to rally a team to help you with the physical movement of your belongings you might consider getting some help at the front and back end only (where no heavy lifting is required). Yep, contract out the physical movement of boxes and furniture (the “heavy lifting” so to speak), but surround yourself with help from friends and family when it comes to the packing and unpacking phases; and the best way to get them to buy in to wanting to help you is through the promise of fun. How to best accomplish that? By a party, of course. Now we don’t mean a full-blown selection of five-star appetizers, imported wine selections, and complex play lists; we mean a casual gathering of like-minded people who can help you wrap up your dishes in newspaper or pack your linens in boxes, all with the promise of food and libation (okay, and maybe a few play lists as well if your electronics are still unpacked) either during the packing (gotta love Chinese delivery) or afterward in a backyard BBQ. Pre-moving and post-moving parties don’t have to be demanding they can be (More…)

Make it a Mini-Vacation

A lot of times when people envision an interstate move the only thing they see are the hassles of coordinating the move you know, the packing, the cleaning, and all the other blissful routines associated with the change in lifestyle. But what about the notion that the move may open an opportunity to take a few days of vacation en route to your new destination? You bet this is the perfect time to take a side detour or two as you drive across the country, especially if you are having your personal belongings professionally moved by a moving and storage company since you are less encumbered than probably any other time in the recent past. If you know you’ll want to take a few extra days to stop by that resort town or other exciting destination, all you need to do is let your moving company know so they can coordinate the time logistically when it comes to their own route planning. Moves are typically stressful and a lot of times they are as a result of changed jobs or other increased responsibilities. What better way to start that new chapter in your life than with a mini-vacation en route to assure that you arrive rested and fully capable to handle the new challenges that will be in your lap sooner than you know it.

Allied and home moves

One of the ways to make moving less stressful is to hire a moving company. And since Allied Van Lines have been in the business for over 75 years, who better to trust with your move? For homeowners, Allied offers three different types of assistance. By purchasing a full service package, you never have to pack a single box. However, if that makes you uncomfortable, there are two other packages to choose from: fragile packing and do it yourself packing. The last two packages offer less involvement from Allied movers. In-fact, that last option only offers packing supplies. But no matter which option you chose, you’re given a little added help. (More…)
